    Not coping at moment

I thought I was doing okay with my health worries this year

With a big c in the family, caught it early she having treatment done. I went to the doctors yesterday because I was worried down there. doctor thought he could feel a lump or a tube, so sending me for a ultrasound I am scaring myself witless, got in next week.

Thanks glad to get an appointment so quickly. pooping bricks at the moment sometimes.

Feeling very scared at times, Even though in the chatroom I have mention it and had very good support. I just can't stop thinking about the lump = cancer. It is stressing me out

Just to let you know the specialist could not feel the lump, he sent me up for an ultrasound just to make sure nothing sinister was found (even he asked me could I find/feel the lump) what the gp thought he felt. because I will have been told than and there by the tech guy. I know it strange to know the results straight away from the ultrasound scan which is good. I did not asked the guy who did the scan. I would have been chased up to go back if needed.

He could not feel any tumours of any description the specialist. I told him what I felt using proper medical terms and also mention the hair/tube thing which he understood.

    Re: Not coping at moment

That's good news. If a specialist can't feel one, I can't see a GP being able to. Maybe it was something that has corrected itself? Is that possible? A mass in the testicle dept can be various things.

My dad went in to see his GP once for something where he also spotted a lump in my dad's throat. He had had it for years so knew it was nothing, he has just assumed it was old age as some men develop those types of necks and he was about 70 at the time. His GP referred him to the obvious specialist dept, and whilst he doesn't suffer from anxiety it is obviously a worry for anyone, and the specialist took one look and said it was a cyst. No action needed unless it caused any pain. 3 years on and no change.

I get the impression GP's might be playing a little bit safer than normal after all the stuff from the NHS about how some had missed things a few years back. My local hospital even cited breast cancer awareness campaigns as a partial reason for it failing to achieve it's screening lead times. Since the rates haven't risen dramatically in the last couple of years it makes me wonder if GP's had been sending people up far more often.

Sorry to here about the c in the family. It's great they have caught it quickly. I hope the treatment is successful and not too hard going for her. My GF's mum has had about 4 rounds of chemo and has found the side effects not too bad aside from once and then they could give her an anti sickness injection which really helped so hopefully any side effects they can do the same for her.

    Re: Not coping at moment

Thank you for your reply and many thanks about my aunt she seems to be doing well, also she being a nurse.

I agree about playing it safe, GPs don't like taking chances. The tech guy is going to be writing a report to the person I saw yesterday. It was a very quick scan. I also thought that tech guys could not tell you the results. Even the tech guy as me about the lump the gp felt and see whether i could feel it. I know there are lumps, bumps and tubes we can feel.

Hopefully your GF's mum treatment is sucessfully.
