Dense breasts

I had a mammogram a month ok for breast pain.
Was told all ok - no changes.
The report I was sent from the hospital says dense glandular disease.
I was not told of this.
I know younger women can have dense breasts , but I'm 52 and had an early menopause in my forties.
Information I've looked at says dense breasts is a cancer risk.
I'm scared and feel that I'm waiting to get cancer !
Has anyone got a similar problem. Thanks

Hi I don't have dense breasts but my understanding from when I had a load of testing done is that they have to tell you that you have it since it can make seeing some cancers a little more difficult. If anything I would just think they'll take a second look at your mammograms when you have them done

If you have dense breasts you can request an ultrasound or breast MRI. Maybe one of those would put your mind at rest.
