Topping up a one-a-day dose?

Hi all,

I started on 10mg 3 x a day but this wasn't strong enough, so I was given 80mg once a day (slow release).

This seems to wear off a bit in the evening, and yesterday in the middle of the night I woke with lots of anxiety symptoms. Instead of taking my next 80mg, I took a 10mg as a top up, reasoning that people take up to 160mg a day.

Is this OK to do?

(I will consult my doctor over this but don't have the time for the next couple of days)
