Colonoscopy prep

I just received a package with the powder in as I'm due a colonoscopy at the hospital but I didn't get an appointment with it just yet, is it normal to get the powder this early? Also the prep sounds quite complicated and somewhat terrifying. :(

I got my prep through the post and my appointment via a phone call. I'm sure every NHS Trust does it differently. As for the prep, is it Moviprep? If so you just mix 2 of the packets with a litre of water and drink a glass every 15 mins till it's gone. Stay close to the bathroom! It's not pleasant but it's not too terrible. Not as bad as a bout of food poisoning. As for the colonoscopy itself, opt for the sedation and you'll be fine, I didn't feel any pain.
