    Angry Struggling at the moment

Feeling constantly exhausted at the moment I'm 5 weeks into treatment on Citalopram for Anxiety and Panic. To add to things my mum has been hospitalised and my best friend has gone on holiday and can't get in contact with me due to lack of signal I feel so lost at the moment and feel like I'm falling apart.

I hear you! Having a very rough patch myself and it feels never ending. Also feeling very alone as I feel I've worn out my welcome asking for help earlier in the year. Sorry to hear about our mum, hope she's ok.

Sorry to hear you are having a rough time at the moment.

I hope your mum is ok and gets better soon.

It took me 3 weeks before the Cit side effects lessened and then by week 5 they went. It was 2 months until I felt improvement and then again in month 3. Hopefully it will start to help you soon.

    Re: Struggling at the moment

Thanks guys, my mum is hospitalized after a hypoglyaemic episode as well as a infection that they are treating with strong antibiotics and oxygen therapy as she keeps having oxygen saturations in the 80's without the therapy. I guess once the consultants are back on her ward tomorrow we will know more on what's going on.

I've been on Citalopram since last month (24th of May) after having persistent anxiety and panic attacks to the point I thought I was dieing all the time, but I wasn't wanting to accept the help until it started being a daily occurrence and I said I need need help and was referred by my epilepsy specialist nurse back to my GP to talk stuff through. I started treatment was on a 2 week trial at first which went well so had another 2 weeks before I was reviewed and a months course started with it put on repeat prescription for me. I feel better in myself than I did I just have to learn to relax and take things a bit more slower for a little while till the exhaustion passes and can resume normal things like Zumba classes and walking. I had a flu like virus not so long ago and my breathing was affected to the point i needed 2 lots of antibiotics and a weeks course of steroid tablets, I'm getting there slowly but will get there xx

Hang in there friend. You are such a very nice person. You'll get through it. Sorry about your mom. Please keep us updated. I think anxiety can be worse for women because on top of the medication there is the monthly cycle. Which of course can play havoc with the hormones. You'll get passed this.

    Re: Struggling at the moment

My mum came home today eventually after 5 hours of waiting due to blood results, medications waiting from pharmacy and...low blood sugar again but she was about to have dinner and wouldn't let her leave till it was OK she has to go back as an out patient to assess her oxygen levels as she has sleep apnoea. My monthly cycle has started too but not like it normally does and the pain is in my stomach rather than elsewhere plus the warning pain I get a week before (due to having PCOS it happens with me) didn't rumble.

I'm hoping now my mum is home I'll be less exhausted with all the running up to the hospital I've done the last 5 days, thanks for your messages they've got me through plus my best friend has been in touch too I miss her lots though as she lives away from me and see her a couple of times a year.

I know how hospitals and your mum being ill takes it out of you.
I have been up and down with my mum for nearly 4 months!
I am so pleased she is out. Try and get some rest when you can.

    Re: Struggling at the moment

It's good to hear your mum is back out of hospital. I bet she couldn't wait?!

She can now relax more at home and so can you knowing everything is going back to normal again. Just be kind to yourself and your anxiety will find it's way back to it's lower levels naturally.

Did you manage to get a song on for your mum?
