Mirtazapine is related to the anti-nausea drug Ordanestron - from another thread "Indeed I believe the antiemetic properties of mirtazapine are identical to ondansetron"

So in theory it shouldn't be a problem here

For the first couple of days it might hit you hard in that respect so best to take it when you have some flexibility (i.e. not a work or school night).

    Hi
I am on day 10 of Mirtazapine.
Started on 15mg for 3 days but had to go to 7.5 because of side effects. Upped to approx 11 feeling slightly better. Last night took 15mg but this morning am running anxiety from early hours. Read on another forum this had happened but had righted itself after 2 days. Will stick at 15 mg for a couple of days see how it goes. Was put on this for anxiety, sleep, and eating problems. Not a lot of difference with eating. Sleep has been on and off. Will post tonight to tell how day has gone. Should I try to go with anxiety or take .5 of diazepam. Have had morning anxiety throughout starting approx 1 hour after getting up. This has been disappearing later in the day, was usually about 6. Now it was happening about 2 but returning later for a few hours. Most nights have been ok. Has any one used hypnosis to help with anxiety issues. Anyone else have these things going on at beginning of medication
    Thanks ruth

Hi Ruth. I am just wondering how the medication makes you feel on the first few nights. I have two little kids and am terrified that I am going to end up in emergency at the hospital from taking this medication. If you wake up during the night how does it make you feel. Could you attend to kids during the night. I struggle with morning anxiety also. It's the pits. Nothing worse than starting your day wound up like an elastic band. I'm yet to find anything to stop it. Although it does ease once I'm up. Maybe because I'm more distracted. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Xx
