Flexible Sigmoidoscopy yesterday

Mother of god I really didn't expect the procedure to be that uncomfortable and I don't wince at pain normally (not bragging but I gave birth with no pain relief or gas and air just so you get the idea) but blimey I struggled! !

Brilliant result as all is fine but today my insides feel battered & bruised, has anyone else experienced this the next day?

Also just because my experience wasn't great others may be and its definitely a test that is essential if needed.

Having had 2 sigs without sedation I would never ever have another one without max sedation as I found them excrutiatingly painful. The reason I was told was because my bowel was gripping the endoscope so they had to pump huge amounts of air in to be able to see.

any camera up or down for me must be accompanied by sedation
