I agree with you Buster,it is a very moving and sad song, I also like him singing God's gunna cut you down,a Bob Dylan song.

Some of the things I remember from my youth: Jamboree Bags, hula hoops, clackers, free milk at school ( they used to put the milk crate by the radiator in the winter to warm it up) the rag and bone man, slowing the wheel down on the electricity meter by slipping a photograph negative between the wheel and the side of the meter (shhhh!) rounders, British bulldog, TV programmes: Bonanza, Champion The Wonder Horse, Dixon of Dock Green, Watch With Mother, Follyfoot, White Horses.
I remember all of them Mojo
I'm sure I remember there was a competition on the back of a cereal packet where you could win a pony lol. This would have been in the 1960s. Really showing my age now
I remember there being a Win A Pony competition in The Sun. You had to unscramble the words to make breeds of horses. I badgered my mum for weeks and weeks to buy the newspaper so I could enter the competition. I sent my entry off and I was so sure I was going to win this pony that I was telling everyone I was getting a pony and they were all jealous. I didn't win of course, but can remember standing behind the door waiting for the postman to come with my winning letter for months afterwards lol.
I don't think there ever was a pony, it was just a sales gimmick to sell the paper because nothing more was mentioned about the pony after the competition ended.
Bless . I could see myself winning the pony. Didn't give a thought as to how it would fit in our small back garden lol
I have not got a clue. First were LPs 75 and EPs45 then cassette tapes then cds.
I remember buying Paul Anka's Diana and Green Door by Frankie Vaughn
