    Diazepam to sleep

Hey. I was prescribed 5mg diazepam to help me sleep (I suffer with depression and anxiety and stupidly came off my fluoxetine cold turkey which has set me back). I've only taken the diazepam for 5 nights but my gp said today I should stop. Should I stop cold turkey? Has anyone experienced this and tapered off?

The doctor probably doesn't want you to become too reliant on it. I was also given it to take twice a day for a week and then as and when I needed it. I'd say you could just stop it as after only 5 nights you won't be dependent on it yet.
