I have deep infiltrating endometriosis and a large endometrioma (cyst) that after watching for 2 year now need to be removed.
The op will be 3-4 hours long, keyhole and will involve 3 surgeons (specialist endo surgeon, urologist and colorectal surgeon). This is because my appendix and ureters are involved in the adhesions (internal scarring).
I have had one minor op before which was ok although I was pretty terrified before. This one is more risky 1 in 500 risk of complication to 1 in 1000 for the minor op. They are going to be removing a lot of stuff in my pelvic cavity and I'm scared of them making a mistake or the anaesthetic going wrong or getting an infection or blood clot. I know it needs to be done and I'm losing weight to be as healthy as I can as I'm currently obese.
Any good operation stories to make me feel even a tiny bit better?
Thanks
