Lump beside cervix in vagina, referred to hospital. Scared

I had a coil inserted 6 weeks ago and the gynae that did it said my cervix was a weird shape and asked if I had any procedure done on it. I mentioned a large polyp which was found 4 years ago when I had my youngest. I then investigated and can feel a gristle type lump beside the cervix. I went to have the coil removed 4 days ago as wasn't getting on with it and hated not knowing when I'm due on ajs the settling in period was getting me down. The nurse mentioned it then and said she would like a doctor to look but she said she wasn't worried otherwise would refer me up the hospital. I was so worried that I couldn't wait a week so I got an appt yesterday and the doc doesn't know what it is so has referred me to the hospital for appt within 2 weeks.
I'm beside myself with worry. I have had no intermittent bleeding, no pain and when I feel it, it just feels like a gristly smooth lump attached to the muscle bit beside my cervix. It is about 15mm by 10mm I would say but not soft like a skin tah / poly. Any advise to calm me down? Thanks in advance. I'm petrified.

I'm sorry, I wish I could be of more help to you. All I can say is it is a good thing they are having it checked if they are not sure what it is. They are just being thorough and ruling anything out. If it was anything really sinister, I would think the first doctor would have sent you straight away. But I can understand why you are worried.
