    Home blood testing kits

    Hi all

Just something I wished to advise you all from my recent experience with a home FBC test.

Be very skeptical with the results, I had a FBC done through the post a few months ago which showed elevated MCV levels providing that the test was in post box all weekend, it was warm and they only tested it three days later.

I would put a warning out there that if you want a full panel of bloods its best to do it at your GP surgery where it is kept at the correct temp and tested promptly in a lab.

I have just had a full panel of bloods done again and the MCV was normal including all other results.

So please be wary & to not cause any further stress especially if you suffer from severe HA like myself.

Absolutely. These home tests are dynamite for HA sufferers and can cause unnecessary anxiety when results are skewed. Stick to tests which the GP orders and are analysed correctly in appropriate conditions.
