Hi,
I think I may have IBS.
I get mild, persistent pain in my abdomen - it can be anywhere, but it's usually in the area of my kidneys (right side in particular). Pain is perhaps the wrong word, actually. It's more a feeling of pressure like being over-inflated and there's often a faint burning sensation. My abdomen feels 'scrunched up' for want of a better term and there's occasionally a sort of gentle clenching sensation on my right hand side.
My bowel movements are regular, but my stools always seem to be quite hard (sorry for the detail!). Going to the toilet doesn't seem to noticeably affect the sensations in gut.
I have a desk job that's lead to terrible posture and a toddler who I am constantly bending down to pick up, so I actually assumed it was muscular to start with. I've also got quite severe health anxiety, so part of me wonders if it could even be psychosomatic.
Do you think it could be IBS?
