Re: Hypertension-Panic
Hi! I think that stress can increase your chance of having high blood pressure, so panicking about having to take pills is probably not doing yourself or your blood pressure any good. It probably isn't best to seek medical opinions on here regarding medication, as we are not doctors, although some others may be able to give you advice from person experience. At the end of the day, if you need to take medication to control blood pressure, it isn't the end of the world. Try making the changes in lifestyle first and see if it helps, if not return to your doctor, or maybe get a second opinion from another doctor.
Anxiety doesn't cause long-term high blood pressure (hypertension). But episodes of anxiety can cause dramatic, temporary spikes in your blood pressure.
Maybe trying some deep breathing exercises or meditation may help to reduce your panic.
