Thyroid biopsy

I had a thyroid scan as under active thyroid runs in my family. I had a scan 6 months ago and they found a small nodule but was ok. I went yesterday and they are concerned about the nodule. I'm absolutely speechless and can't cope. I suffer health anxiety anyway but I'm. Totally breaking out. Need a biopsy next week

I have a nodule and it's been there for years like maybe 15. I've only more recently started having issues with things being overactive and waiting for treatment with radioactive iodine to knock the nodule out.

I had a biopsy on the nodule at the time it was found (I was actually getting a scan for something else). The procedure was not pleasant, don't want to lie to you, but didn't take very long, no sedation or anything.

I've been told the majority of these nodules are benign and nothing to worry too much about unless they start affecting your levels.

The sooner you get it checked the sooner you'll know you will be fine.
