Late period and mid cycle spotting

Hello all,

I'm three days late for my period. I know it's not a lot, but for me it's unusual.

My last 6 months of periods (as recorded on my app) are as follows:

April: 26 day cycle
May: 27 day cycle
June: 32 day cycle
July: 26 day cycle
August: 31 day cycle
September: 31 day cycle

My body doesn't feel as though a period is coming, although there are occasional cramps. About a week ago, I had pains in my lower stomach and thighs and thought it was coming, alas nothing.

One of the most worrying things for this month is that I had some pink discharge on day 21 of my cycle. I wiped and a few times it was pink tinged and some red streaks. This is unusual for me.

I haven't taken a test yet but it's very unlikely I'm pregnant as we are very careful. I'm worried that I have something really wrong with me like cervical or ovarian cancer. I'm also concerned I have premature ovarian failure.

I'm 27 years old. I have lost some weight this month as I've been on a diet - cutting carbs. And I've been under a lot of stress lately but it's never affected my periods before.

I went through something very similar, it turned out to be a benign polyp but it could just as easily be hormonal, or caused by some harmless ovarian cysts. Easiest way to tell is to go the Drs and get a Transvaginal ultrasound, and it will show that up.

Am assuming you are up to date with your smears? They did another of these for me when they were getting to the bottom if things.
