    Constipation

    Hi all

    Struggling with my anxiety at the minute. Currently on my period and have dealt with a lot of work/ relationship stress the past few weeks. Yesterday I worked a 10 hour day and rushed a takeaway. So since last night I have been constipated pretty bad.

    I've taken some effervescent salts this morning but they are yet to work. Tried to just have some fruit and a sandwich earlier on but feel so bloated - it's horrible.

    Just really scared it won't go away.
    It's sending my anxiety through the roof, any advice please? X

    Drink more water and gentle exercise like walking

    I agree with that too - more water and exercise. But also prune juice - it's a brilliant laxative!! I know from experience. And it's available in most supermarkets.

    Thanks both - started drinking lots of water and feel loads better now! Going to steer away from takeaways so late at night! X

    Coffee is a great laxative, also sugar free candy with sugar alcohols like sorbitol. Also be sure to include plenty of fibre
