Hi, I have been reading everyone's posts on here for a while so thought I would take the plunge and introduce myself.

My name is Nic, I am 32 and have always been a 'bit of a worrier'. The worrying has got worse and worse over the last 10 months however, and I have found myself getting into an awful state of anxiety and worrying about things to an extreme. This has left me feeling sick, run down, tired, and totally miserable.

I recently decided I needed to get help as my anxious state was affecting my family so through my GP I saw a counsellor for a few weeks who helped me to talk through my anxiety.

I have taken a lot of advice from here, and read alot of books so am trying to improve my diet, do exercise, take up hobbies to distract myself etc. I am also on the waiting list to see a cognitive behaviour therapist, because I feel this would help me manage the negative thoughts.

I was wondering if anyone else has used CBT for anxiety, and whether it helped.
