Cheers Pulisa My cousin has anorexia. She's very thin and gaunt and has lived with it for a while now. Looking back at my situation it was tough, but I managed to to get out of the cycle. I feel for those who can't escape. Like my cousin. I started the gym with my Dad who was a body builder and my mindset flipped to gaining weight because I found the muscular look sexy. I have body dysmorphia to some degree. Sometimes I can look at myself and tell myself I'm very thin, or I'm very fat. But I don't entertain those thoughts anymore, it's dangerous. I had a blip last year when I purchased a pair of scales.

Yes scales are the worst thing and weighing yourself quickly becomes an obsession.

I've lived with an ED for 46 years now (untreated anorexia at 16). It's not just a young person's illness. For some it can be lifelong.

    It’s very sad.

Sorry to hear this pulisa. Is it still a daily struggle for you?

Yes I'm afraid it is. I wish it wasn't but I am able to live with it so have been lucky.

I've no words, but I think you are a strong and courageous person.

I’m surprised we don’t have an eating disorders section on here...

Thank you for your kindness, James..I wish I could have had help when it all started and if I do anything now it would be to emphasise how important it is to get the right treatment at the very beginning of the illness. Sadly there is still a very limited service on the NHS..

    Helen McCrory RIP.

Such a fine actress. (I know it's "actor" now but I still believe in distinguishing between the two sexes).

    RIP.

I thought her character was underused in Harry Potter.
