Calm, calm, calm. Repeat This word to yourself over and over and do some mindful breathing.

Yep it sure is! My partner and little one will be up in 2hrs and I'm still wide awake.
I see your from Scotland gorgeous country. I was born in Falkirk and brought up in Kincardine.
I had this on my first two night of my holiday. Couldn't sleep, palpitations, horrible anxiety I could shift. It settled down a bit but I still get the attacks on and off. Nothing I done while trying to sleep helped. It's like a constant anxiety attack.
I now have a stinking cold and have several day trips planned :-((.
How do you feel now? I've been up all night too. No panic but just anxiety. Turn a light on, put some music on or tv. Deep breathing, breathe out first because you'll be hyperventilating, then in for five out for five. Sit with your hands on your lap or lie on your back with your hands on your belly and feel it rise and fall. Hopefully you'll feel less restless!
