I'm a 20 year old male crippled by anxiety attacks and agoraphobia that started a few years ago. I had to drop out of college due to feeling to closed in in the classrooms and now suffer anxiety attacks going anywhere outside my home (crowds, busses, trains, shops etc). I don't feel safe outside. I've been diagnosed on two different occasions by two different specialists (in two different years) with having agoraphobia and a vomiting phobia and now a suspected eating disorder (waiting for a specialist diagnosis).
I have my home ESA assessment coming up on Wednesday and really need advice to set my mind at ease. I'm terrified they will find me fit for work even though I cannot leave the house and on the last occasions I have (months ago for hospital) my mother has accompanied me and we went via car and not public transport.) Can anyone help me to mentally prepare for this assessment by sharing their experiences? What should I expect? What kind of questions? I have evidence in form of the diagnosis letters from the two different specialists but I've heard they sometimes ignore these. I've also heard they contradict your statements in their reports.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
