    Songs stuck in head

Is this also an OCD symptom? I've always had this, but now I feel like I can't push these songs away? It's really frustrating. For example, Today I've been hearing a song playing in my head over and over again, that I didn't even hear today, don't know where it comes from.

Is this a schizophrenia or psychotic thing or something?

No it's anxiety, a very common thing and damned annoying!

It's experienced by non-anxiety sufferers too, it's very common as you will soon see from the replies you get. I often experience it too. I found myself singing parts of a song that was in my head last week in fact, and it went on for days until I was shouting at myself for doing it When I think about it, parts of random songs are in my head most days.

They are referred to as ear worms.

Anyone can get them and there are techniques documented to break out of them.

Completely normal, for those with OCD and without. I had one quite recently, started to focus on it, then got worried that it would never go away. Started to catastrophise etc. Of course, it did go eventually after a couple of days, like every other one before it. So, in line with everyone else's advice, just leave it be and it'll work its way out.

Thank you!!! Yeah, I just think I'm focussing on them a lot more than before. It's like, they're the replacement of some intrusive thoughts. I much prefer the songs than the thoughts though

Best advice for you is to not over think it. When I'd get a song in my head I'd start to worry and it would only make it last long. Just accept it and enjoy the music!
