    Thumbs down Lumps around anus

    TMI

I can feel a skin tag/tiny lump right near my anus. I can't get a good luck at it because I'm not that flexible but when I did I was sure I saw some more.

I had a BM last week and saw tiny dot of blood on tissue. I also shave down there and in between my butt (don't judge) so not sure if this is related. Also, this same lump/spot can hurt like when you cut selfrom and get something inside...

Do I go doctors or sexual health clinic? I had cervical smear 1 year and half ago and didn't receive anything about HPV and had a full sexual check up last month and clean. I've had same partner for two years now and no anal.

Anyway I digress, what is/are these and who do I see? Can't say I'm that excited about getting my butthole out in front of anyone.

Don't worry, Reb, they don't do it in reception.

It sounds like an external roid. Any rubbing can irritate it so shaving can. No big deal about shaving in that area, any person shaving down there surely does that bit too?

It's not an issue for a sexual health clinic, it's a GP's area. Really with something like this it's something to ask a pharmacist about as you can get cream OTC. If that doesn't help, stronger treatments are available from your GP.

Roids are largely about diet, toilet habits (straining is a big cause), stress, etc. Work on these and it will help.

Roids are very common, especially in people with anxiety.

Definitely a hemmoroid. I've had them since my daughter was born (the beauty of childbirth!). If it's not bothering you try to let it be. Mine can get so painful if they get enflamed. One of my favorite things for them are Tucks pads, but I'm in America so you may have them under a different name. They are just little round pads soaked in witch hazel. I soak my bum with them after a bowel movement any time mine are acting up.

Mine started due weight lifting when I was in my early twenties. It's common in lifters due to the straining like how pregnant women get them with the pushing through the bottom to give birth.

I've had mine getting on twenty years now and they aren't much of an issue anymore. They were the first few years though. So, maybe yours will settle down too?

I found salt water baths helped when they were at their worst with the itching & soreness. A bit of an old fashioned treatment for many things that doctors & nurses still advocate.

Thank you for your replies. I guess I was worried they were anal warts because they're so small and feel like spots. I had the impression piles, excuse the expression, took over the actual ass hole. I've never had them before just an image I had in my head lol.

They can be internal, external or both. An external one is outside and it can be away from the "hole". They look a bit like grapes.

It's easy enough to have a look with the help of a mirror in your hand and one placed on the floor.

Just a thought with you saying they feel like small spots, you can get that from shaving in sensitive areas. If so, they will heal up & go very quickly whereas roids take longer and will likely need some treatment.

At the risk of exposing myself as not much of a Midlander, I shave the groin (less irritation in suit trousers when you are sitting down a lot) and sometimes get pimples. It can be where the shaver pulls a bit or perhaps just an inflamed follicle. They go quickly.

    Doesn't necessarily mean piles.

I had a lump and blood on tissue so I went to the GP who actually specialised in that area before going into general practitioning (is that a word?).

Turned out to be nothing and that the blood was from a small tear from a hard stool.

I also had my prostate checked while she was 'working in the area'.....that was fun
