I suffer from crippling Globus and even drinking water was hard for me to do without panicking and choking on it. But today, I did something I never thought I could do. i swallowed a pill!!! The immense fear I had of swallowing pills was unbelievable. I am at my parent's house and i developed spring allergies. My dad bought me antihistamine pills. My mom was standing in front of me as I literally bawled my eyes out of fear and panic as I stared at the pill. I really wanted to get over this fear of mine once and for all. It was literally the most terrifying experiences I have ever had. I put the pill in my mouth and some water. I could feel my heart pounding and heat flashed though my chest. i was in full blown panic. I took the pill out of my mouth and replaced the pill several times. And finally, I just swallowed. I did't even feel the pill go down!!!!!!! I was so surprised I was shaking with relief and crying. I literally jumped around the house. I feel like I can do anything after that LOL! After 17 years of fearing pill swallowing, I did it!!!! I DID IT!!!!
The biggest thing that helped me swallow the pill was imagining it several several times before actually doing it. I pretended to put a pill in my mouth and swallow many times before hand. And when I actually did it, I didn't even feel it at all!!
I cannot believe I did that!!!!
