    escitalopram ie LEXAPRO no 1

If you are about to ask for you first ANTIDEPRESSANT ask for escitalopram it head and shoulders above the rest of the SSRI family and that what your likely to get first time round, i cannot use in now has it pooped out on me to many time , i was the first in my area to get the generic escitalopram because has Lexapro It was way to much for the NHS , when i first used it i did an overnight taper from sertraline and felt the benefit the very next day, 1 tip never go over 10mg any higher like 20mg you will feel no better, only more side effects

It's probably because you're posting meds threads in GAD rather than Meds. Although, it's pretty slow on Meds, unless you're on Cit, Sert or Mirt.

It's hard to answer the thread because it's not really a question, just a comment.

I take Lexapro and I love it, but I can't say it's the "best" because it's the only SSRI I've taken.

I'm glad you're having a positive experience with escitalopram. However, one person's dream can be another's nightmare so to speak. We all react differently to medication so in that sense there's no such thing as a best medication.

While you felt no benefit on anything above 10mg, that might not be the case for others who may need more.

Again, I'm very happy you found something that worked but as poppy said there's not much we can add to the thread.

I'm afraid that's how it is here and it's got busier with Anxiety Zone closing. People using Active Topics will quickly see this happen, or some of us using the games threads as we can post on 15+ within 5 minutes.

I use the traditional view rather than the updates. But with either you can remove a board from view if you need to.

People will see your posts, snowghost, I've seen a fair few of yours and it's clear people have been happy with the support you have given them, like my friend Carnation. The more people get to know each other, I think we look out for each other's threads/posts more too. That's certainly true when support is needed.

With this being a UK forum, it's likely there are less on it. This med costs more than Citalopram and I've read NHS guidance about not using it based on cost if there are alternatives e.g. they were switching people over to Cit just to save costs a while back.

    Hi Terry

That's exactly what happened to me! I was on Escitalopram for the first 4 months of my anxiety problems but was moved to citalopram because it was cheaper. Hard to say really whether there was any difference at all between them for me!

Snowghost, i've seen quite a few of your thread replies so don't worry! Health Anxiety sub moves extremely quickly so it's quite easy for posts to be swallowed up as you say!

    Best wishes to all!
