Colonoscopy - sedation or not?

Picked up prep today, all seems straight forward enough.

I ran out of time to call the unit today and ask about sedation, will try tomorrow. Really hope its allowed.

Thanks Kaye! I maybe referring back to your post to remind me of what to expect bowel prep wise.

Did you have sedation through a tube in your hand or gas and air?

Evening prep taken (moviprep). Wasn't too difficult to drink, thanks to orange cordial and ginger ale. Bit of a headache though, just waiting for the enevitable now.

Well this is tedious...waiting for it to kick in. Aware I need to be careful what I wish for since it won't be pleasant when it does start up.

It will work soon trust me. I had sedation in my arm it honestly calmed me and I felt drowsy but then some pain and he gave me pethidine

I'm glad someone else asked this question as I've been wondering the same, I've been put off scheduling the appointment due it not being standard routine, my first instinct thought that it would be.
