Woke up with a small bruise on the back of my hand?

It's a tiny brown bruise that seems to have slightly faded since this morning, I've just created so much anxiety over it. I don't remember hitting it anywhere so now I'm convinced of some serious blood disorder/cancer.

Can things like this just appear and mean nothing? I have brown skin and it's a few shades darker than my skin.

I can't comment from a medical point of view but I wouldn't discount a bruise at all, in fact, it sounds very likely to be a bruise.

Your hands do so much every day, dangle in line with things like desks, door handles, table. Furthermore, you have next to zero 'padding' on that side of your hand, practically skin and bone.

I remember I got a bruise on my arm one week. I was really concerned because I didn't remember hitting anything or being hit in that area at all. Turned out I hit a keypad on the door to where I work. I know it was this because I did the same thing two days later and then the penny dropped.
