Worried about stomach problems/colon cancer

This just starterd again today after having it on and off a few months ago, I will suddenly feel the need to go to the toilet, (almost like it's going to be diarrhoea) but then when I get there I end up straining a lot, it's a really uncomfortable feeling and the more I worry about it the worse it seems to get.
