I am a 44 year old women with health anxiety. Last year I went and had my first mammogram and everything came back clear. I have no history of breast cancer in my family. Is it necessary to go every year for a mammogram after 40? It's confusing with the different medical societies saying different guidelines. Would you just go ahead and schedule the appointment or put it off for another year?

My wife just went... once a year is normal and recommended after 40 per her Gyno....

I can feel since my very close cousin have the same situations like yours. She always go for an appointment with the doctor and helped her out. Glad she is getting better and she's a strong woman. Be strong also for yourself.
