anyone else have a neck lump that isnt a lymph node

Hi All

Ill bullet point for speed
Female 42 severe health anxiety OCD intrusive thoughts
Found small smooth movable lump in neck between base of neck right side and collarbone
freaked out, googled, lymph node, C, dying
Went GP he felt it said he doesn't think its a lymph node as its not in the right place. too high for collarbone to low for neck very small smooth he's not worried at all
diagnosis piece of meat/gristle/muscle come back in a month to check it hasn't got bigger if it has we do ultrasound but it will be nothing.
still freaking out...pushed and prodded so much its really hurting so is my arm, my ear, my back etc. basically spending evenings sitting crying consumed with worry.

Question: anyone else have a lump in their neck that wasn't a swollen lymph and is just basically a bit of neck?

I've had a small moveable lump on the right side of my neck for years, finally went to the Doctor's and they said it was just a cyst that's grown under the skin and nothing to worry about and said to avoid touching it except once every so often to check for growth. I'd probably say don't prod so much

Has a cyst been ruled out?

Hi thanks for your reply....no nothing has been ruled out. He had a good feel around and says he thought it was just gristle or a bit of muscle because it becomes more prominent when I tense the neck muscle's. Cysts were not mentioned. He also said to just leave it alone and come back for a check in a month. Said he wasn't concerned and that it would be nothing. My anxiety doesn't want ro hear that however. I'm really struggling with it.

My son. 27 years old.
Visible lump on neck when he turns his head.
It's been there for 2 years.
Can see slight swelling under jaw when looking at him straight on.
Is not growing, it's not going away, it's just there.

Is it a lymph node? Is it a salivary gland? Is it a lipoma? Is it a cyst?
