Dry retching

I suffered 4 months of dry retching. Never vomiting. Consultant advised possible reflux as well as chronic sinusitis symptoms. Whatever hit the back of my throat/tongue made me retch. No pattern or warning at all. This could happen 6 up to 10 times a day, leaving me absolutely drained of energy. I am now very pleased to pass on a remedy after seeing a 2nd Consultant. He advised no caffeine or alcohol - shock, horror to hear. However caffeine free tea, and coffee worked within 24 hours with only 4 of 5 episodes during the last four days. Absolutely fantastic.

Sounds like reflux to me. A common diagnosis among anxiety sufferers.

That's an interesting piece of advice from your consultant. I can think of another member with really bad dry retching issues, who drinks for their anxiety, who would benefit from reading your post.
