Thread: Is the fluoxetine working or is it denial of circumstances

Is the fluoxetine working or is it denial of circumstances

I have just passed week 5 of 20mg.

The last two days I have slept better and woken up feeling a lot less anxious about work. However on Monday my doctor extended my sick leave so I am unsure if it is the tablets or just that I'm not going to work.

If I think about going back to work it doesn't seem that bad?

I was going to look and apply for new jobs but I am hesitant because I don't know if I could cope with the change again. I've only been in this job 3 months.

But then I have two weeks to attend any interviews etc etc

I really don't know what to do.

If it continues for a few more days then fluoxetine may indeed be working. It tends to be slower to do so than the other SSRIs, but it comes down to how it meshes with individual biology.

I started to worry about money this afternoon and that has made me anxious thinking of all the things i would have to give up if i quit and then took ages to find work or less pay.

    Hey

Usually once the prozac really, really works, you won't be having obsessive thoughts about going back to work or not, therefore I would sit tight! Does your work have a modified work program?
