Hi,
Im 60 and recently had some spotting which the Dr diagnosed as atrophic vaginitis. She prescribed Ovestin cream which I've had before for dryness but had stopped it in recent months. Three weeks into using the Ovestin cream I had an abundance of clear, sticky vaginal fluid (like ovulation mucus) tinged with blood. It continued in lesser amounts for 2 days and now has returned to the usual dry mucus.
Surely this can't be an ovulation after all this time, although I did have ovulation and a period when I was 53 (3 1/2 years after I'd finished at 48)!

I saw the gynae in January, the vaginal scan showed a thin uterine wall and shrunken ovaries, also my smear was fine.

I have an appointment to see again next Weds but am scared it's something cancerous. The fact that all the tests were fine 5 months ago should reassure me but I still have tons of fear and anxiety!!
Are there any other postmenopausal women out there who have experienced this?
Lesley
