Anyone else bite the inside of their cheeks?

I wasn't going to post this here but since I think it's related to my anxiety I figured id go ahead and post it.

So for a long time now I've had a habit of biting my cheeks and it's caused the inside of my cheeks to look gross because it leaves a shredded looking whitish skin behind. I don't actually bite chunks out of my cheeks like some people I bite like the first layer of skin and since I've been doing it so long it's left these little shreds and that's now what I bite mostly.

When my doctor looked in my mouth she asked me what is that white stuff I said I bite my cheeks and she said oh you should stop doing that so that's what I'm trying to do but I do it a lot not even thinking about it.

Alot of my family members do it as well including my siblings so I must have picked it up from them. But I think it started as a result of being anxious or something..

Any advice on how to stop doing it?

Yes, and have for years! I also perl the skin around my nails.

I do both of those things as well! I also have a bad habit of picking at the spots/acne on my chest and back, so I've got scars all over my body now.
