Blood tests

My doctor wants blood tests because I'm on risperidone does anybody else get them on this medication? I was told only Lithium required constant blood tests. My previous doctor never required them I'm not keen on doing blood tests.

At least annual blood tests are a good idea with most antipsychotics and also mirtazapine, especially if there is weight gain, as they can increase the risk of developing metabolic disorders, i.e. diabetes, elevated 'bad' and low 'good' cholesterol, etc. They are probably a good idea for those on antidepressants too. Also get your blood pressure checked regularly.
