Re: House Bound and Heartbroken.
Hi MrGinger. ..Please don't think i'm trying to make less of your suffering or simplifying your symptoms but it sounds to me like you're over-breathing which is a classic result of anxiety.
It's almost as if your nervous system is in a permenant state of 'fight or flight'. The tension this produces effects almost every part of you and can alter the mechanics of breathing, as in, it can alter the balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in your bloodstream which then alters your breathing to produce weakness and lightheadedness. Finding the correct breathing exercise, of which there are many, could restore the balance.
Whatever mental torment we go through, if it's prolonged over many months or years, it will always result in physical pain of some sort...whether it's muscle cramps and twitches, stomach pain, chest pain, severe headaches or breathing problems, we won't get away without suffering from something physical, but with the help of certain medication and a good therapist to help us understand what's happening to our bodies because of what's going on in our mind, we can overcome the constant state of tension and anxiety.
