    zoos and agoraphobia

just wanted to say that i managed 2 huge zoos in one week with my beloved family.i have real problems at these places and the stress from the second visit made me physically sick later on.but i did it! i took my 6 yr old on a steam train round whipsnade animal park and no one who was with us had the slighteset idea i was agoraphobic.anyway i am just pleased to be able to fight off the desire to bury myself in a quilt and be with my lovely family for days out...................ade x

    ...WELL DONE!

Its funny, the zoo was one of my first "major" trips just after not being housebound.

Panic attacks started in 1992. 1998 i became agoraphobic which lead into being room bound. Couldn't even get upstairs. 2002 i started getting better, able to drive and work. 2005 i became house bound again. 2009 i have been making SLOW progress, still not able to go anywhere alone, but my journeys are getting longer. No where near 'normal' but at least i can go out.
