Last night was the "race for life" run at Trentham Gardens in Stoke on Trent.
Me, my daughter and my best mate Gill took part in the race.
What an amazing experience and challenge it was for me. Id got my rescue spray in my pocket in case of an emergency but never needed to use it once!
5000 of us were at the start line. Stuck in the middle of such a huge crowd I would normally have been panicking even before I started with panic attacks. However cus of the fun atmosphere I was fine.
Along the way I met some old friends from my dance class days which was nice. But the best part of all was going over the finishing line and realising that yes if you are really determined to do something you can beat the dreaded panic attacks.
Now im going to do the mcmillan race. I now realise that excercise is a brilliant way to overcome the panic and anxiety I have been suffering with for the last few years.
Can I also say Well Done to the other members of NMP who have also done the race.
What a great way to raise money and have a great time.
Take care
