False memories?

Has this happened to anyone? I'm in a crisis over here because I feel like I have this memory from my childhood but I can't really remember it and it feels so real and now I think I've done something horrible. I could give a million reasons why it didn't happen but it feels so real and now I feel sick.

Our minds can create a whole bunch of crazy scenarios, if you think about it enough then it is possible to create false memories. Do you focus on the memory, or does it just come to you?
