Just found a lump on my daughter. Please help!

My 11 year old daughter has just come to me pointing out a lump right under a mole on her upper arm...I’ve goigled (why?!?!) and I’m absolutly terrified! She says it’s been there ages and she thought she had mentioned it before (she hasn’t!!) and I’m worried sick. It feels deep down and isn’t sore? Obviously I will have her at the docs tomorrow morning but I didn’t know where else to turn

Just to add mole has always been there and hasn’t changed in appearance at all.

Sounds like a common old sebaceous cyst. They are painless

I had a lump that sounds like this on my forearm. Obviously when I discovered it I was pretty much planning my own funeral but the doctor said it was just a harmless fatty lump. Apparently they often occur on the arms.

Thank you for your replies...I had another look at bedtime as she asked me to (trying not to alarm her obviously) and it’s under the skin, quite hard ish and smaller than a pea.

My mum had one of those, fatty lumps on her arm. Think it went away on its own eventually

I have the exact same thing on my arm. I’ve had it since I was about 6 years old. Firm, hard, deep in my arm, completely immobile. It’s a cyst and it’s harmless.

it could just be a cyst they can form anywhere and it may have just so happen to form under the mole but not actually be connected in anyway. if it were cancer and it has been there a while like she says assuming that means at least a couple of years, then i would assume it would have grown. best thing to do is see the doc.

It’s a grissly/fatty lump in the fat layer between skin and muscle and nothing to worry about! Phew!!
