    Unhappy Escitalopram (Cipralex)

I have been on this now for 5 weeks, after a few weeks i started to feel much better but this last week has been awful for me. I am moody, have had constant headaches, no energy and all I want to do is sleep! I cant get up in the morning and am generally feelng terrible. Has anyone experienced this? will it get better the next few weeks? I dont think i can stand feeling like a zombie for much longer

    thanks xx

    Re: Escitalopram (Cipralex)

    Hi there
I took this last year and after a few weeks - probably two months or so - I no longer had anything I could put down to the tablets. I felt a lot better (not cured, but then I only stayed at 10mg and was reluctant to go up). It took it for about 9 months.

Only looking back can I see that it helped me when I was on it - as soon as I came off i went back to the pits and have now had to go through the whole going back on the tablets situation with citalopram this time. It is horrible, but the side effects you feel could just as easily be the anxiety as the tablets. If you can stick it out, give it a few more weeks and you should be starting to see light at the end of the tunnel!

Have you been back to see your GP - they should sbe willing to see you quite frequently at this stage as going on these tablets can be quite traunatic.

    Re: Escitalopram (Cipralex)

Thanks for all your replies, I am due to see my doctor in a couple of weeks so I am going to see if I can stick it out until then. She is gonna think im mad as last time I saw her i was feeling great and now I have never felt so awful. Hopefully its just side effects of the tablets, but when she did give them to me she did say these are meant to cause fewer side effects if any!

    Thx again xxx

    Hi Tinkerbell,
I've been on 10mg for about 2 yrs now and have found them to be great.
It's true the first few weeks aren't too good but since then I've been "normal".
I couldn't praise them more. They've given me back my life and a very profitable career.
