upped dosage and side effects again!

Hi

Ive been taking sertraline for 10 weeks at 50mg, but still feel anxious, etc.

My Doc has told me to increase to 100mg, but since I have done this I have been getting the same side effects as when I first started.

How long will this last for. Im sooooooooooo fed up as I had really bad headaches for about a month the first time and dont think I can stand having headaches for that long again.

Hi Liz, this sounds pretty unpleasant! Has your doc considered other treatment options for you? Maybe another med would suit you better.

On the bright side, you might find your side effects don't last as long as when you first started - your body will possibly adjust quicker to the new dose than it did to an entirely new substance.

Hi Liz, it's still early days for the sertraline to be working to full effect on the anxiety. I find that most meds can take up to six months till they are working at full strength. However, it's horrible you have to suffer with these headaches, especially with all the heat and humidity around at the moment. Bear in mind you have doubled your dose so any side effects are bound to be heightened. When did you start taking 100mg? If I were you, I would go and book an appointment with your doc and investigate other treatment options.
