Thin Stool after being constipated?

After being constipated for about a week, I’ve noticed all my stool looks very soft and thin...is this normal? I got a little freaked out because suddenly being constipated, loss of appetite, and thin stool are apparently symptoms of colon cancer.

My doctor had done an x-ray on my abdomen after I went in for the constipation and they saw no other issues beyond some simple constipation. Would an x-ray have picked up on if something was wrong with the colon?

I feel like I’m overthinking this. Any help or reassurance? I’m 18 years old and otherwise healthy.

If you've been stressing out about the symptoms then i'd say its more indicative of anxiety or IBS. Stress causes your colon to contract which can lead to poorly formed stools.

Also cancer is not something that affects young people, especially colon cancer. The chances of someone under 50 getting it without family history is unbelievably small.

Don't obsess over the shape, size or color because our colons go through rough patches where they come out looking very weird. Its normal.

Besides, if the x ray had shown anything significant you would have been sent for further testing.
