Missing One Dose - Feeling ODD!

I know I've definitely done this a few times and every time it happens I act like it has never happened and I'm shocked or something..

But I miss a dose of 20mg this morning as my prescription had run out and I just hadn't realised it was my last few tablets this week! I'm waiting for my prescription to be ready so I've missed my dose today and as per usual I feel so weird!

Body zaps, anxiety, head feels floaty, tired, it's horrendous!

    Does anyone else get this?!

My anxious head starts thinking it's all sorts of things but then I put my rational head on and remember the FACTS of what has happened.

    Silly me!

Yep - some people are very sensitive to an SSRI and withdrawals can start to appear within a day of missing a dose.

It's difficult - but try to listen to your rational brain - everything that's happening is a side effect of the medication. Once you take that next 20mg dose, you should start to get back to "normal" in a day or so.

According to the citalopram survival guide:

Citalopram has a half-life of 36 hours. This means that after 36 hours of taking a dose, only half of that dose is still in your body, since your body will fight it off like any invading element.

So it's possible but unlikely to be causing many (if any) side effects.

    Hello

I used to get this with citalopram if I was late/missing doses too. I was told it wasn't possible due to the half life but I definitely experienced it! Mainly the brain zaps, which is a very odd feeling.

Anyway a few of us taking venlafaxine have been discussing this, since it seems to be quite unusual. I saw your post and it sounds like it might be the same sort of thing. If you're interested, the thread is here http://www.nomorepanic.co.uk/showthread.php?t=213480

Hope you now have your prescription and are feeling much better
