Citalopram headaches :( worried :(

Hi everyone,

Haven’t posted on here in a while. Back on citalopram since 22nd jan so 2 weeks now.

So far it is not going good - the first week I had horrible intense anxiety, though my obsessive thoughts were subsiding, and I had terrible insomnia. Now this week I’m unnaturally tired and today I have a throbbing headache that not even my trusty paracetamol is helping :(

I’m such a worrier when it comes to headaches as I have health anxiety. I took the paracetamol about an hour and a half ago and I know I’m worrying over nothing as it started off as tension in my neck and shoulders. I guess it has subsided a tiny bit but normally paracetamol has me feeling great after half an hour.

Anyone else had horrible headaches after starting cit? I’m only on 10mg to start

I didn't have headaches on citalopram particularly... not that I remember.
I get headaches A LOT and the severe ones aren't helped by paracetamol. And I'm still alive

Tension in the neck and shoulders... can't that lead to a headache? Relaxing your face muscles and your back as much as possible might help maybe?
