Venlafaxine

My pshychriatrist wants me to take venlafaxine. I am very scared to take them, all tablets I have had in the past have made me too nauseous, so I did not finish the course. I told him I have a fear of being sick. I have put off collecting my prescription as I am so scared.

Anyone give me any advice, would be really apprecitated. I have gad.

Welcome to the site.

I've been on Venlafaxine for over 6 months now (225mg XL) I did have a few side effects when I started, feeling a bit off, tired and hyper at the same time, ringing in my ears and a little nausious at times. I found them much more tolerable than some other AD's I've tried and the side effects had mainly gone after a couple of weeks.

AD's can effect each individual person very differently so it's a bit of try it and see type advice really. I'm sure you'll be fine. Let us know how you get on with them.
