    Ghost fear/anxiety.

I cannot believe I am actually writing this ffs. Lol this is ridiculous but god please help talk some sense into me. Please make me calm the **** down. PLEASE, please read this even though it's long :(

Today, someone I know and have to visit weekly told me this real terrifying story about how there was a ghost living in her house. When she first said it, I laughed, like this is a 38 year old woman telling me she believes in ghosts. Anyway, she went deeper and deeper into the story and all of a sudden my chest started aching and I began having a very painful panic attack but I'm proud of myself because I hid it very well.

Anyway, story goes like most ghost stories...doors opening and closing, lights flickering, seeing things in the corner of eyes, but the story got weirder when she said she actually filmed the ghost touching her and well her hair was moving around and stuff.

Anyway, at that point something comical just became a bit frightening to me.
She said so much stuff about things showing themselves and just really creeped my out to my core. I have to see her next week aswell. Ugh.

I feel like a little kid frightened there are ghosts haunting me, I'm too scared to go up to my room now and sleep on my own. I'm 20 years old for gods sake, I feel so stupid.

Hi , I don't want to make too light of it because I know you are scared but I used to watch most haunted on tv , god knows how many series over years and not one actual sighting of a ghost and they are looking for them in apparently haunted places , you've got no chance of seeing one , it's just a bitch when someone rabbits on about somthing you don't want to hear and you feel too rude to say shut the f&@k up .
It will go out of your mind with time .
    Take care .

I understand why you're creeped out, I think that's what this woman wanted. Some people are obsessed with ghosts and the supernatural and get a kick out of spooking others with their stories. She probably made parts of the story up to cause that effect. I have been to a couple of houses where the living room lights were randomly flickering and noone took any notice of it.

Even if that's the case, it's in her house not yours

How are you feeling about this now, Mav?

Anxiety being on high alert for things can easily see you are feeling on edge over a scenario like this and start pushing for panic to start.

With my GAD when I was really ill with it there were so many triggers for me. TV sounds, exciting films, anything that could raise my nervousness in anyway.

Once you process it and your body adjusts again you should find this just goes away. It's like having bad anxiety and sitting in the dark watching a horror film...never a good choice when your anxiety sees your body already reacting in ways it associates with our anxiety disorders.
