Thanks, Carnation and YNWA. She had an appointment today and they said the irregularities in her numbers could be because of some medications she is taking, but they're not sure. She has a contrast CAT scan booked for...sometime...which will hopefully clear things up and hopefully it's nothing sinister.

It would be nice if things could be boring for a bit, though.

How are you all doing weather wise? We've got record lows here - it was -11F this morning (online calculator says that is -24C). My friend up north sent me her weather report and she's sitting at -31C with a "feels like" temperature of -43C. A bit brisk, but I'll take it over sweltering heat any day.

Yes, the shoulder-shaking thing upon waking was probably a dream. But it scared me at the time as I wondered if it could be a ghost (maybe a negative one)!

It is very cold here, only about 5 degrees and it's raining. Last night I went out for a meal with my mum and some of her former work colleagues. I really enjoyed it and it shows how far I have come since a month ago, when I was still really anxious and had a low appetite.

Carnation, I'm in Kansas - so right in the middle, lol. Apparently the whole country is having record lows. My friend does live pretty close to the Canadian border, though. I much prefer these temps to the sweltering summer ones though!

I met Chisum's new vet today - I really like her and the clinic. We are still monitoring the bump and will recheck in a month, I guess that will tell me if I'll be going on vacation or paying for an operation. But it still hasn't grown so I'm going to be cautiously optimistic.

Sparkle, that sounds like it was a really lovely evening. I think socializing can be a really nice comfort and sometimes even a good, healthy distraction. I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

Sparkle, going out for a meal can be a real test for the anxiety because there can be so many things to be uncomfortable with, so well done for that.

Poppy, that's quite cold for your area. But I'm with you on the preference to that than a heatwave.
As my dad always said "you can put extra layers of clothing on but when it's very hot you are stuck with it".
Good news about the new vet. A first meeting is so important and my gut instinct is rarely wrong.

We've a storm coming our way tonight but being by the North sea you get used to it.
Last night, while eating my dinner, my wobbly tooth finally came out. So strange and a weird emptiness feeling where it used to be. It doesn't notice at all because it overlapped with another one. No pain, no mess, just popped out, lol. Much better than going to the dentist and no cost.

Fishman, how's your lab? Has something happened to trigger her?

Hi Carnation. Thank you for asking, I don’t think it’s anything specific that’s causing the PTSD. She has been like this on and off since 2023 when our estranged son came over and was turning sofas over and smashing light fixtures.

She had problems prior to his visit and they just made it worse. She will constantly shift her bedding around plus bite and tear at it. Other times trying to hide down the side of the sofa. If I sit quietly with her it usually calms her.

Fishman, sounds like it's stress related. And that can be triggered with a person, noise or event.
You're probably doing a great job of calming her down, bless her

Hi PK, hugs back. I replied to you on your thread
