Blood on surface of stool, blood mixed in with mucus on surface

I'm totally losing my mind right now with worry, for about 5 months I've had blood on the surface of stool, and recently have been starting to get blood mixed in with mucus on my stools, I went to the doctor and told him about the situation and I was given a blood test which came back normal, then I returned to the doctor and I've been referred to the hospital fora colonoscopy, the doctor seemed pretty sure it was anal fissures, but the bloody mucus is really worrying me, the blood mixed in is ruby red and the mucus is sticky and on the surface of the stool, what kind of things can cause this apart from the obvious big C has anyone else had bloody mucus with fissures or hemmorhoids?

Yup all the time with IBS and piles thrown in as well!

Oh sorry, I thought it was a bot reply or something, but I guess you're a mod

I've calmed down abit now, but it's still on my mind, so this mucus with bright red blood mixed in, is that typical of anal fissures or hemmorhoids? It was only a tiny amount, on two parts of the stool, I've seriously developed some health anxiety over these months, I know I'm only 24 and it's extremely unlikely that it's something sinister, bit I can't help it :(

yes ive had this and am at the moment along with ibs symptoms im having lots of mucus of different colours and red/brown mucus i was told it was internal piles when i first started with it x
