Your anxiety is messing with you. No need to follow up. The MRI is for your reassurance as everything is normal.

    I'm trying Fishmanpa!

I decided to call up anyway, and the specialist's PA had sent through the referral on the day I went in. She said she would have expected a reply within a day.

She resent the referral, and asked me to call the scan place directly - I did, and the earliest they can book me in is the 7th of June. They said they get 100's of referrals a day so it is easy to loose them!

Frustrating! I realize that everyone makes mistakes, but would have thought the medical industry would be a bit better than that! It just means more waiting, and more sleepless nights due to HA!

    /rant over.

Why? Blood work is normal and Ultra Sound is normal. An additional NON URGENT MRI ordered for reassurance and you're still sweating it? That's HA for you! Thing is, I'll wager you'll get an all clear from the MRI too and still think they missed something. Perhaps the $$ spent on the MRI could be better put to use with real life professional help with your anxiety?

Still waiting, less than a week to go till the scan.

I have been able to sleep for the past weeks, but last night was bad.

I'm still getting pain in the places previously mentioned, however now I also have sore ribs on the left hand side, sore back in the middle between shoulder blades and more pain in my left hip. I'm going to ask the specialist about it when I go for the test results.

I agree with Fish. Ultrasound is usually the gold standard for lumps and bumps. Having both a clear blood test and ultrasound is pretty conclusive.

I made the call to go to a psychologist instead of getting tests a while back. Very similar situation to you. Just a different body part. I do not regret it in the slightest. The psychologist brought up things that made me think entirely differently about how I was living my life. One of the best decisions I've ever made.

    Update (of sorts)

Had x2 MRI's today, one on lumbar spine, one for small intestine.

Earliest I can get the results is on the 15th. Only one week :-)

Feeling pretty good at the moment. The new pain is still there - my mind goes to pancreatic cancer straight away, even if I only have one symptom of many! Not finding it too hard to push out of my mind.

Got the results of the MRI.

Everything is normal, 100% healthy. That is making me less worried as there is no giant tumor or anything!! I had a look at the photos on his screen, and I would have to agree that it all looks good. Looked very good even though I'm no expert.

Which is annoying, as I'm still having the pain. Surgeon said to wait a few weeks, and if I'm still having the pain to call up and he will book in a colonoscopy (had noticed (once) a bit of blood, and continuing mucus) - I guess it could still be some inflammation or similar causing the pain.

I'll give it a few weeks and see how I am. I really don't want to have to live with the pain forever as i'm only 24!

Wow, this was over a year ago now.

The lumps on my abdomen are called 'muscles'. Apparently most people have them and they help us move and things. I wish now the 'lumps' would have grown, I would have been so ripped right now!

Reading my posts from a year ago is like reading somebody else's writing.... good to reflect from time to time.
